For all of our Cambridge customers, when we carry out work, we will:

  • Arrive within the timeslot agreed or advise if we are running late and keep you updated

  • We aim to call you the day before to re-confirm our appointment with you. Please let us know as soon as you can if you are unable to keep to the appointment to avoid being billed for a no-show.

  • For cancellations or amendments made at any time up to 24 hours before the appointment during Monday to Friday – for booking and cancellation purposes – Friday is assumed to be the previous day to Monday as the office is not open over the weekend. We do not accept SMS messages or emails as a cancellation - please call us on 01223 313002.

  • If you cancel the appointment within 24 hours or over the weekend for a Monday, we may charge £50 or the 50% of the booking cost.

  • If our electrician is unable to get in or access is denied for any reason then we may charge for this visit or need to re-book another appointment to complete the work at extra cost.

  • If we are unable to attend, we will advise you with as much notice as possible. We will always aim to give greater than 24 hours notice, due to the nature of our work, the only appointment time we guarantee is 8am.

  • If we cancel a confirmed appointment within 24 hours, then we will add a £25 eVoucher to your account with us. this can then be used against your job with us. We will deduct this off the total cost of the invoice. There is no cash alternative to this eVoucher. The eVoucher is valid for 2 years from issue.

  • We are unable to hold all materials on our vans, so we may need to return or go and get materials within the booking time if they have not been pre-ordered at the time of booking.

  • The only time we agree and confirm is 8am due to the nature of our business. Under special arrangement, we can confirm other specific times and this must be agreed in writing.

  • Our standard prices quoted are for Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, unless otherwise agreed.

  • An experienced electrician will attend and carry out your work.

  • We are registered with NICEIC and can complete domestic work under Part P building regulations and issue certification for our work. Since 2006 registration EPP2572

  • To enable us to be efficient for you - please ensure that all areas we are to work in are clean and clear of your belongings. Unless specifically noted as a task, no time is included for moving of your belongings before or after our work. Please let us know before quoting/booking that you need us to allow time to move items.

  • We are used to working around cherrished items, so if you have precious items or delicate valuables, then do please store them well away from our work areas or if this is not possible then advise us on arrival and we will make special efforts to keep well away. Please ensure you are suitably insured.

  • Keep to our agreed price - we quote work on both Quoted (fixed) and Estimated (not fixed) basis.

  • All prices sent to you will include VAT at the prevailing rate of 20% unless stated otherwise.

  • Quoted work means we will invoice you the fixed price at the end of the job - Quoted work is generally where we are installing new electrical circuits and equipment, this assumes that there are no faults that we could not have known about that either prevents us from completing our planned quoted work or requires further extra work to put right defectice parts. Extra work would be quoted for as a new separate job and we will draw a line under the work done so far and invoice at that point. This fixed price work is a more expensive method of employing us.

  • Estimated work means and non fixed price and we will suggest time and materials for a job on our estimate to you and that the actual time and materiasl will be billed for you. We will update you where we find that extra time and/or materials will be needed and advise you of the uplift cost at the earliest opportunity. Where this is a short or small job such as a fault find or adapting a circuit - this uplift will be issued as quiclkly as possible for you. Generally where we are not installing new electrical circuits and equipment, then this will be on a Time & Materials basis. This is also the most cost effective way to employ us.

  • During a job, if we find new defects and faults we willadvise you accordingley and suggest further services and quote you for them.

  • Ask you to leave us feedback for the work done - we rely on your feedback to improve our service.

  • All certification takes up to 10 working days to be processed and will be issued once the final bill is settled.

  • Part P for domestic installation work notifications will be made within the allowed maximum of 25 days following completion of the work. If there are any problems with your supply, earthing or notifiable work then this will hold up completion of the job and new work to complete will be required and not normally included in our work unless specifically noted as a task to be completed.

  • EICR - electrical inspection condition reports or outcomes are not issued at the time of testing, these too go through our internal process and checking before issue or comment can be made. Under no circumstance will any CES operative give you any indication either way to the outcome of the EICR during or immediatley after the test is completed.

  • Our standard prices apply only to jobs in Cambridge and a radius of 25 miles – we are happy to go further by arrangement.

  • We reserve the right to charge £0.65 per mile beyond the 25 miles.

  • We have Public Liability Insurance cover up to £5M
